Louisiana lawmaker aims to shore up cockfighting laws

Louisiana outlawed participation in cockfighting two years ago, but demand has caused underground fights to continue. One lawmaker has proposed a bill that would aim to end it by criminalizing the act of attending or betting on cockfights. Penalties would include a $500 fine and six months in jail.
