The best fish sauce in the world is said to come from the tropical Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc, which boasts a fortuitous combination of temperature, weather and fish. Local producers are working with the World Trade Organization to keep other fish sauce makers from using the Phu Quoc appellation on their labels.
