Hospital-based doctors want leadership roles, survey finds

A PricewaterhouseCoopers survey found more than 90% of physicians employed by hospitals said they should be part of executive leadership and management teams, but hospital managers said most lack the business skills to do so. Survey data also showed hospitals see physicians as leaders in the effort to meet quality standards set for accountable care organizations and are developing compensation systems that increase revenue while avoiding penalties.
