NOAA project reveals inaccuracies in previous seafloor maps

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's "Hydrapalooza," project, which used a more advanced sonar system to map out the ocean floor than previous mapping efforts, revealed structures that were inconsistent with the delineations of older maps. Some of these inconsistencies still show up on GPS mapping systems.
