IRS announces sequester-related shutdowns during the summer

Instead of spreading furloughs out among its workforce, the Internal Revenue Service has decided to shut down completely on five dates during the summer in response to the federal sequester spending cuts. All public-facing IRS functions will shut down on those five days, with another two days of closings possible before the end of the government's fiscal year.
