Bottled cocktails make a comeback

Cocktails made and bottled ahead of time may lack the drama of stirring and shaking, but they can mean delivering a precisely measured drink without delay or fuss in a busy bar, says Kenzi Wilbur, associate editor of Food52. Bottled cocktails may seem like a novelty, but they date to the 19th century with a line of classic drinks from Heublein. "We have certain lines of defense to get dependable drinks into people's hands faster, and this is one of them," says Jeffrey Morgenthaler, bar manager at Clyde Common in Portland, Ore.
