Aegis, Publicis, Havas and Interpublic increased their TV ad spending in the first quarter to 63.5% of all spend thanks to major events such as the Sochi Olympics, March Madness and the "Walking Dead" season finale, according to the Standard Media Index. Digital also had a significant rise, with NBCUniversal increasing its digital ad revenues by 249% during the Olympics. Google was the fifth-largest Madison Avenue ad vendor, with 17% of the total spend.
