Research pitting geckos against Teflon points to new types of adhesives

The hairy paws of geckos can easily grip walls and glass but Teflon is another matter, according to researchers at the University of Akron in Ohio. Geckos, they discovered, have difficulty hanging on to the nonstick surface. The research into the lizard's microscopic hairs for gripping holds promise for a variety of applications for binding things together, from medicine to construction, according to this article.
