MSOs realize importance of marketing appeals

With free local avails becoming scarce, cable networks are buying more local or spot cable. The need to market new services such as HDTV and VOD have contributed significantly to the trend, industry experts say. CTAM President and CEO Char Beales notes the trend is healthy, adding "The real story is the tremendous marketing partnerships between MSOs and programmers already in the field around all these new services."
