ADB wags finger at Asian curbs on food exports

Several Asian countries, including India, Vietnam, China and Cambodia, have either restricted exports of rice and other foods or are preparing to do so in order to secure their own food supplies. But the Asian Development Bank said Tuesday that export curbs are the wrong solution to the global food crisis, arguing that the countries instead should boost direct aid to the poor.
