CMS opens comment period on PET coverage

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has opened a public comment period on reconsideration of its PET National Coverage Decision. This move comes after the agency received a formal request from the National Oncologic PET Registry to change FDG-PET requirements. Physicians who use PET are encouraged to submit their comments, which are due May 10.
