FAA inspectors face deadline to complete American inspections

FAA inspectors have until May 30 to finish overdue inspections at American Airlines. An airline spokesman said the work will not interfere with the carrier's operations and noted that the inspections are not related to earlier maintenance issues. Meanwhile, DOT Secretary Mary Peters is asking American and the FAA to provide a report on aircraft groundings earlier this month.
