Alabama lawmakers greenlight waterways infrastructure bill

An Alabama Senate committee has approved a bill to create an inland waterways infrastructure office to oversee the state's 1,400 miles of navigable waterways. "Currently, Alabama stands alone as the only state with significant number of miles of navigable waterways without an agency to seek funds," said George Clark, president of Manufacture Alabama. The bill must proceed to a full senate vote before becoming law.
