DuPont cuts 2009 forecast, cites weak demand

Chemical firm DuPont announced a 59% decrease in first-quarter earnings, with net income decreasing to $488 million compared with $1.19 billion in the same quarter last year. DuPont also announced that it lowered its full-year forecast, as it expects weak demand to prevail across key markets throughout 2009.
