LAX plan to expand runways angers airport neighbors

Neighbors are protesting plans to move runways farther apart to reduce collisions at Los Angeles International Airport. The nation's fifth-busiest airport held several public meetings to convince neighborhoods to its north of the need for expansion, but to no avail. During a seven-year time period, LAX reported 16 near-collisions on runways, the most of any airport in the country.
