California charter school certified LEED Platinum

The Salmon Creek School in Occidental, Calif., is the state's first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified Platinum school. The charter school features a green roof with an organic garden, which helps provide fresh meals in the school's cafeteria. A solar array provides 30 kilowatts of electricity, and the building designed by Pesinger Architects and Symbios Design incorporates plenty of natural light.
