DuPont gears up new nylon production, R&D facilities in China

DuPont is ramping up plans to add nylon production lines in its manufacturing operations in Shenzhen, China. "We announced our plans to add production lines two years ago," then the economic crisis struck, but "now it's going to be ready in three months," said James Hay, DuPont's Asia Pacific regional director for performance polymers. The chemical major has also invested in additional facilities for its research-and-development center in Shanghai, enhancing the company's ability to cater to automotive applications.
