Iowa group touts price advantage of E85 for flex-fuel vehicles

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association is urging owners of flexible-fuel vehicles in the state to take advantage of E85's lower price compared with E10-blended gasoline, according to Lucy Norton, the IRFA's managing director. Using E85 is a money-saving proposition, even with the lower mileage factored in, Norton said. Drivers of flex-fuel vehicles in Iowa using E85 are only paying 11 cents per mile, compared to gasoline's 14 cents per mile, Norton added.
