Small businesses look to expand abroad, but not without concerns

Exports can be an important way for small businesses to grow, and it's one the government has urged more to use. "Let's face it: In order to have a great business these days, you have to be in the global markets. ... You just do," said skin-care entrepreneur Djuana Munn, who wants to export to spas and resorts in the Caribbean. But business owners must examine their how cash flow might be affected and how soon they might expect overseas buyers to pay. Experts suggest exploring financing options and export-credit insurance, and looking at Canada as a good starter market.
