A little advance planning, such as studying a menu online, can help people enjoy a restaurant meal without blowing their diet. Registered dietitian Tania Vander Meulen advises keeping a meal to no more than 600 calories by avoiding heavy or fried foods and sauces, looking for extra vegetables and eating just half of an entree and taking the rest home.
