Online video continues to gain viewership, according to the latest comScore survey, and advertisers are starting to jump on the bandwagon, agencies report. In March, the number of video ads surpassed 8 billion for the first time, and 181 million people viewed nearly 37 billion videos. "Online-video sites are becoming a legitimate alternative to cable and network-TV options for reaching consumers," said Craig Atkinson, chief digital officer of media-buyer PHD. ComScore cited the spread of "TV Everywhere" as a primary driver of online viewing.
