Iowa district gives students more independence

In an Iowa district, officials have implemented an instructional method known as "quality learning," in which teachers act as facilitators and students take a more active role in learning. Students work in independent learning environments, which allow them to work at their own pace and with increased flexibility, teacher Tiffany Roberson said in a presentation to the school board, which also heard from students who praised the method.
