Amid weak global demand, Taiwan export orders fall 6.6%

Taiwan's export orders fell 6.6% in March from a year before, and first-quarter orders were down 13.9%. "Export orders for last month and last quarter both fell short of our expectations, mainly because the global economic recovery was weaker than we expected," said Lin Lee-jen, director of the Ministry of Economic Affairs' statistics department.
