Better 1st quarter seen for German economy

Germany's Finance Ministry says the nation's economy probably stabilized in the first quarter, recovering from a fourth-quarter downturn. Although "German industry has not yet completely overcome a weak phase ... a range of economic data points to the economy regaining momentum over the rest of the year," the ministry said, noting stable industrial orders and improving sentiment indicators.
