Brazil fines McDonald's $1.6 million over Happy Meal toys, ads

A consumer protection agency in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has fined McDonald's $1.6 million for using toys and advertising aimed at children to sell Happy Meals. The company, which has the right to appeal the decision, declined to comment; in the US, McDonald's has made moves including adding apples and cutting back on fries in children's meals.
