Fox seeks injunction against DISH Anywhere service

DISH Network's new DISH Anywhere service represents an unlawful use of broadcast signals that is in violation of retransmission-consent contracts and copyrights, Fox Broadcasting told a federal judge on Friday. The network is seeking a preliminary injunction against the service, which uses technology from Slingbox to permit "place-shifting" viewing. However, DISH said the networks did not object to the technology when Slingbox launched it seven years ago, and that viewers, not the satcaster, are legally using the technology for their own use.
