HAART therapy may protect hearts of young HIV patients

Researchers looked at the heart structure of nearly 600 HIV-positive and negative children and found that those with HIV who received highly active antiretroviral therapy had better heart function than those who didn't receive the drug combinations. The study appeared online in JAMA Pediatrics.
