NCQA chooses Tenn. oncology practice to join ACO

The National Committee for Quality Assurance has tapped The West Clinic, an oncology practice in Memphis, Tenn., to join in an accountable care organization initiative that follows the Patient-Centered Medical Home approach. "Oncology practice is particularly suitable for this model since it provides vast longitudinal care to cancer patients, both those with active disease and those post-therapy with regard to some of their survivorship needs," according to Lee S. Schwartzberg, medical director at The West Clinic.
