OCC lawyer will recuse herself from Volcker talks

Amy Friend, chief counsel at the Office of Comptroller of the Currency, will recuse herself from Volcker-rule-related conversations for a year in order to avoid possible conflicts of interest. Prior to her appointment, Friend was managing director of a consulting firm where she worked with many firms that the OCC oversees. In addition to the Volcker rule, Friend will recuse herself from matters involving her former firm and six of her former clients.
