Roundtable raises concerns about online sales tax legislation

The Financial Services Roundtable is urging the Senate to consider how legislation allowing states to require online retailers to collect sales tax might affect the financial services industry. Scott Talbott, senior vice president for public policy, warns that the tax could hurt retail investors, retired Americans and small businesses. "This legislation has the potential for unintended consequences," Mr. Talbott said.
