Weight-loss surgeries yield similar outcomes, study finds

A study presented at the annual meeting of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons showed severely obese patients who either had robotic sleeve gastrectomy or robotic gastric bypass attained similar weight loss, and mean hospitalization times were 2.2 days for both groups. Complications were low, but researchers said more studies are needed to back the findings.
