When grading students, does pen colour matter?

Teachers at a London school recently were instructed not to use red pens to grade students' work -- citing research showing the colour is associated with harshness. Critics, however, including Tory MP Bob Blackman, say the instructions go too far. "If they have got their homework wrong they need to be told it is wrong and to understand what the right answers are," he said. "The idea that they should use this or that colour is madness."
