Del. 1st-graders showcase U.S. geography knowledge with exhibit

About 100 Delaware first-graders showcased their geography knowledge during their recent exhibit "The 50 States: A Tour of our Country." The students made posters, used food samples such as Vermont cheddar cheese, wore costumes and even created a foaming volcano to share what they learned with parents and staff. The project fulfilled requirements for research, geography and public speaking, said Nancy Carter, response-to-intervention coordinator.
