Study: Behaviorist Theory Prevails

District-level officials overwhelmingly subscribed to behaviorist theories of teacher learning, according to a study by James Spillane of Northwestern University. Evidence suggests that advocating a behaviorist perspective may not jive well with the current push to integrate instructional changes geared toward strict academic standards.
