U.K. Seeks A Few Good Men

With the aim of increasing the number of positive role models for children, the Teacher Training Agency reportedly is attempting to boost the number of men teaching primary school. Currently, 13% of primary school staff is male, a number the government wants to raise to 20% by 2005. Schools also are to set up "buddy schemes" for male staff to share experiences and prevent male teacher attrition, a report says.
