Feds give Minneapolis good marks for response to bridge collapse

Interagency cooperation, streamlined radio communications and enhanced preparedness resulting from a FEMA course helped Minneapolis officials respond effectively to last year's Interstate 35W bridge collapse. The report by the U.S. Fire Administration was more critical about the initial lack of a unified command post for fire and police departments, but said most concerns already have been addressed by the city.
