France's Carrefour to launch low-cost brand

The Carrefour Discount range includes about 400 items, most of them foodstuffs. The world's second-largest retailer will introduce the brand in France at the end of next month. Carrefour is attempting to refresh its image as many consumers see the French retailer as more expensive than its competitors.
