IMF acknowledges global economy is in recession

The International Monetary Fund, which had been reluctant to say the global economy is in recession, has acknowledged the situation and says a turnaround is not likely until next year. "By any measure, this downturn represents by far the deepest global recession since the Great Depression," according to the IMF's twice-yearly World Economic Outlook.
