Port Authority will manage PATH station construction

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey this week said it will manage construction of the $3 billion PATH station at the World Trade Center. The decision ends the authority's relationship with Phoenix Constructors, a conglomerate of four construction firms, that was managing the project. The Port Authority will now bid out contracts to individual contractors. Phoenix, however, will continue to work on projects it has already been awarded.
