Texas to start $4B public-private partnership this fall

The Texas Department of Transportation has awarded a $4 billion contract to LBJ Development Partners for the design and construction of a 13-mile section of Interstate 635. The project will rebuild the eight lanes of the LBJ Freeway and add six additional toll lanes for the congested highway near Dallas. The public-private partnership, which allows LBJ Development Partners to operate and maintain the road for 52 years, is scheduled to begin this fall.
