University recreates crashes in desert lab

Arizona high school students recently got the chance to play a central role in CSI: Crash Scene Investigation. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University invited the students to its 8.5-acre Safety Center in the Arizona desert where real crashes are replicated in vivid detail. "We use the crash sites to teach people how to investigate accidents," an ERAU professor explains. "We try to recreate the actual crashes as close as possible."
