Alaska reverses Q1 loss on 12% revenue gain

The parent company of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air earned $5.3 million in the first quarter, reversing a year-earlier loss of $19.2 million. Revenue rose 11.8% for the period. The company said results would have been even better were it not for fuel costs that have risen nearly one-third since last year.
