NBCT: How much should students care about state tests?

Student test scores are so important that teacher evaluations -- and increasingly, pay -- are tied to them, but there are few incentives for students to do well on them, National Board Certified Teacher and blogger Anthony Cody writes in this post. One teacher suggests putting students' scores on their transcripts. However, Cody questions whether students should even care about the tests.
