Officials consider expansion of gifted education in Minn. district

School board officials in one Minnesota district are considering a proposal to expand the district's offerings for gifted education, adding a full-time program for elementary-school students who are highly gifted and honors courses at three middle schools. The plan is part of the district's efforts to make advanced courses available to more students and keep them from seeking more rigorous programs at out-of-district schools.
