How to untangle your site's CSS and HTML

In theory, HTML and CSS are separate tools -- but in practice they're usually deeply entangled, with changes to one requiring tweaks to the other, writes Jonathan Snook. To tidy things up, try using child selectors, which limit the scope of CSS selectors, or class selectors, which allow a more granular approach to managing HTML-coded site elements.
