IBM researchers find photonics capabilities in graphene

Scientists at IBM Research have discovered photonics capabilities in graphene, the carbon material that promises to replace silicon in creating ultrafast semiconductors. It is now conceivable that graphene could be used to make terahertz photonics modulators for optical networks, according to IBM.
