Romney supports lower federal student-loan interest rates

GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney said that, like President Barack Obama, he also favors keeping federal student-loan interest rates at 3.4%. Rates are set to double to 6.8% in July, when a 2007 law expires, unless Congress extends the lower rates. "Particularly with the number of college grads that can't find work or that can only find work well beneath their skill level, I fully support the effort to extend the low interest rate on student loans," Romney said.
