Special educator is recognized for work with students

Wisconsin special-educator Michael Nichols recently was honored with a 2012 Golden Apple award from the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce's Partners In Education program. Nichols, whose daughter has a cognitive disability, was recognized for helping students gain independence and increase their self-worth and confidence. "Our primary focus is academics, but I believe in teaching the whole child," Nichols said.
