UAMS confirms data breach involving 7,000 radiology patients

The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences announced a security breach involving the data of 7,000 interventional radiology patients from 2009 to 2011. A doctor failed to de-identify patients' records when transmitting financial information to an outside organization to evaluate billing charges. The compromised records include patients' account numbers, radiology procedures and diagnosis charges.
