What's next for teacher-preparation programs?

The U.S. Department of Education has been working to implement an evaluation system for teacher-preparation programs that is based on test scores. However, education blogger Valerie Strauss writes that such a system likely is flawed, according to experts who say standardized tests are unreliable. Following a federal panel's inability to agree on a system for evaluating such programs, Strauss predicts the Obama administration will enact its own system.
